Tarina has been a Physiotherapist since she graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2005. She also completed post-graduate training in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, Sport Physiotherapy, and Dry Needling. Tarina owned an outpatient physiotherapy practice in South Africa that focused on musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction, manual therapy, treatment of sports injuries, amputee rehabilitation, and reintegration into sport for people with a disability. Tarina also lectured part-time on these topics at various South African universities. Currently she is the Accreditation Officer and a Learning Architect for Physioplus and assists in creating and accrediting global online continuing education for physiotherapists.
Throughout her career Tarina has worked as physiotherapist for Team South Africa during large international sport events, which includes 2 Paralympic Games and 2 Commonwealth Games. She has worked with different sporting codes including athletics, weight lifting, cycling, triathlon, swimming, and rowing. She is passionate about helping other people continue or return to doing what they love doing.
Tarina and her husband moved to Austin in 2015 and she received her license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Texas early in 2017. She now works at Carter Physiotherapy, an outpatient manual therapy practice. She enjoys traveling and experiencing the culture and food of places around the world!
