Physiopedia MOOCs Stand the Test of Time

Physiopedia has best physiotherapy MOOCs in the game, and now they are all available to you when ever you wish to access them on Physioplus.

Ever since 2013 when we ran the first ever physiotherapy MOOC (Massive Open Online Course), Physiopedia has been the undisputed king of delivering physiotherapy courses in this way. Free-to-all, top quality educational content is a key Physiopedia objective you could say that MOOCs are in our DNA and our yearly commitment to you. So keep your eye out for the 9th Annual Physiopedia MOOC towards the end of 2020.

If you are unfamiliar with MOOCs, these are courses which run in an online environment that is open for anyone to participate in. There are many different varieties of these types of courses and are created for different reasons. Physiopedia  MOOCs are created in relation to identified needs in low resourced and developing, or conflict/disaster contexts and are physiotherapy centric. Our hope is that the education directly connects to those who need it the most.

Each MOOC is free at the point of publication for one month and after that they are available at any time on Physioplus. This means that after the initial free period the content will continue to be available with a small fee but this is used to  ensure their longevity and sustainability to keep helping those that need the content the most.

Don’t worry about this cost though as Physioplus is excellent value for money due to Physioplus’s relationship with the Physiopedia charity. The courses will always be free to people in low income countries through these discount codes.

Thank You To Our Partners

It’s fair to say that our MOOCs would not exist were it not for our fantastic international partners. So a special thank you is in order for The University of Western Cape, International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Exercise Works, Global Clubfoot Initiative (GCI) for content and support, and Humanity & Inclusion for French translations, because without you this would not be possible.

If you would like to run a MOOC please contact us by email: [email protected] We will discuss your ideas with you and collaborate with you to create the best content possible.

Impact of Our MOOCs

After each MOOC has finished an evaluation report that shares the impact of each course in a freely available. This is a really important part of the process as it allows each course to evolve and grow. The impact of the spinal cord injury MOOC has even  been reported in the journal Spinal Cord in an article evaluating the course outcomes.
