There are now 123 member organisations of the WCPT.
At the WCPT General Meeting held in Geneva in May 2019 a new constitution was approved. As part of this new constitution electronic voting can be used for approval of new member organisations outside of a general meeting. Since the meeting three votes on new members have taken place and all three were successful meaning there are some new additons to the #GlobalPT family – in excess of 155,000 physiotherapists!
The new member organisations are:
- French National Council of Physiotherapists (Conseil national de l’ordre des masseurs-kinésithérapeutes)
- Polish Chamber of Physiotherapists (Krajowa Izba Fizjoterapeutów)
- Order of Physiotherapists in Romania (Colegiul Fizioterapeuților din România)
Interestingly at the general meeting the WCPT membership also discussed a proposal to allow more than one national physiotherapy member organisation in each country. This proposal was rejected.
