ICRC Physical Rehabilitation Programme Birthday Event

You don’t want to miss out on this extraordinary FREE birthday event.

Over the past 40 years the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has been committed to improving the lives of people around the world through the Physical Rehabilitation Programme (PRP). Prior to 1979 the ICRC was involved in physical rehab services but that was the year their commitment stepped up to the next level through the creation of the Physical Rehabilitation Department.

The approach the ICRC has taken to tackle disability has evolved considerably over the 4 decades since the inception of the PRP. They are always evolving, expanding and collaborating with partners to break new ground in the field of rehabilitation.

For the past 4 years Physiopedia has been proud to have been one of these partners collaborating with the ICRC to work towards our shared vision of improving rehabilitation around the world. We have worked together to deliver exceptional workforce training through our high quality MOOCs. These courses have reached a staggering number of people with over 33,000 participants which has never been seen before and without the ICRC this would not have been possible. So join us in saying happy birthday to the PRP!

The Birthday Event – You Are Invited!

To celebrate the 40th birthday of the PRP the ICRC would love you to join them at their HQ in Geneva on the 29th August for a free celebration event. There will be a short film premier showcasing the evolution of the programme followed by a presentation and discussion led by Yves Daccord the Director General of the ICRC. The celebration will then close with Giles Duley, an English portrait and documentary photographer, showcasing a collection of his photographs and sharing the stories behind them. Giles is best known for his work documenting the long-term impact of war. The event will be followed by a cocktail with an exhibition of Giles Duley’s best artwork.
