Art and health competition launched!
The WCPT is seeking outstanding pieces of artwork and photography relevant to physical therapy under the theme “Diversity and inclusion”. Interpretations of the theme may include:
- Diversity of patients and practice
- Inclusion of disabilities
- How physical therapy encourages inclusion
- The vast range of specialties within the profession
The deadline for entries is 15th February 2017. The work of the finalists will be displayed in an art and health exhibition at congress and the overall winner of the competition will receive an Amazon voucher to the equivalent value of $100 (USD) to spend in their local store . Getting ready for Cape Town
With the deadline for early bird registration now passed, we are pleased to announce that nearly 1000 delegates are already registered. As we enter the six-month countdown to Cape Town, momentum is gathering amongst the global physical therapy community and along with our hosts, the South African Society of Physiotherapy (SASP), we look forward to welcoming many of you to South Africa!

Congress courses
With pre- and post-congress courses selling fast, now is the time to add one to your registration. The courses have a focus on applied knowledge and skills and are designed to complement the main scientific programme. They offer the delegate the chance to explore issues in depth and gain practical experience. They are an optional element and do carry a separate fee. Courses offered include the following topics:
- Non-clinical: Collaborative practice or leadership and advocacy
- Paediatrics: clubfoot, diagnostic ultrasound, critical care or early intervention
- Exercise: Exercise & ergonomics, lung cancer, osteoarthritis, older adults
- Pain: osteoarthritis, central sensitisation
- Women’s health: Low back pain

Travel & Visas
Don’t forget to find out if you will need a visa to travel to South Africa. WCPT has published information regarding visa requirements. The Star Alliance member airlines have been appointed as the Official Airline Network for WCPT Congress 2017.
Registered delegates, plus one accompanying person travelling to the congress, qualify for a discount of up to 20%, depending on fare and class of travel booked.
