Call for abstracts!
There are just over six weeks to the deadline submission of 31st October. Don’t miss your chance to present on the world stage. Abstract presentations are the main way of showcasing research and innovations – there were over 1,640 platform and poster presentations at the WCPT congress 2015 in Singapore. Submit your abstract now.
If you’ve never done anything like this before then make the most of the mentoring programme which closes on 16th September 2016. It is intended for those with limited or no experience of submitting an abstract for a scientific congress and to help authors present their material clearly and concisely prior to submitting their abstract to the formal abstract review process.
If you don’t want to present how about taking part in a course? Thirteen courses have already been confirmed for the 1st and 5th July. Covering the breadth of the profession, topics include pain central sensitisation, health and exercise for older adults, leadership and advocacy, and exercise and ergonomics for computer users. These courses offer the chance to explore issues in depth; meet with experts and colleagues in their particular field; discover the latest implications for practice; and gain practical experience.
As well as the courses there is also a chance to see how physical therapy is practiced in South Africa. The South African Society of Physiotherapy has arranged for public and private institutions to open their doors to congress delegates. This has potential for you to learn in a purely clinical environment which the conference courses may not offer.
There is also a vibrant social programme available where you won’t want to miss out the fun and games. There is an opportunity to experience the cultural diversity that Cape Town and the African continent offers from the opening ceremony to the party night.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity, there is so much to see and do. We look forwards to seeing you there!
