Foot and Ankle

The Foot & Ankle course has been approved by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for 16 CCU’s. The foot and ankle is a complex structure and a good understanding is essential no matter which specialty you work in. Best practice requires skills in assessment, treatment and rehabilitation across acute and chronic conditions. Due to the complexity and diversity of the topic, this course gives you an introduction to assessment and treatment techniques, and gives you a foundation of understanding to build upon.

The outline includes:

  1. Structure and function of the foot and ankle
  2. Medial and lateral aspects of the ankle
  3. Conditions of the anterior, posterior and plantar aspects
  4. Other common conditions and orthotics

Cerebral Palsy

The Managing Children with Cerebral Palsy MOOC (MCCP) has been approved by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for a massive 24 CCU’s. The course was a great success when it was released a year ago and it still is. The course outcomes were overwhelmingly positive and the post-course evaluation says it all…

This course changed the entire approach towards CP, not only for me but with the application in clinical setting, also for my colleagues. I got to learn not about the treatment through material but with videos and practical approaches in different countries. Especially the discussion forum really helped where different physiotherapists from all  around the world shared their experiences.

Expect to cover the following topics during the course:

  • Understanding Cerebral Palsy
  • Child development and evaluation
  • Positioning and handling
  • Communication, feeding and into adulthood
  • Everyday activities and vocational training
  • Specific therapeutic interventions
