The Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group has proposed to end GP practice for physiotherapists. This would affect access to physiotherapy which would be replaced by a telephone consultation or one visit.
These non-evidence based proposals are contrary to local and national policies of efficacy, prevention, and access to patient care. They are contrary to patient rights under the NHS Constitution. With these changes, unmet needs could turn into chronic or disabling conditions. Improving access to care for patient and development of specific services would be more targeted.
Members of the CSP have until Dec. 28 to respond via the survey monkey.
