Fit for the Future this World Physical Therapy Day

World Physical Therapy Day, launched by the WCPT in 1996, is on 8th September every year. The day is an opportunity for physical therapists from all over the world to raise awareness about the crucial contribution the profession makes to keeping people well, mobile and independent.  The day marks the unity and solidarity of the global physical therapy community. It is an opportunity to recognise the work that physical therapists do for their patients and community. Using World Physical Therapy Day as a focus, WCPT aims to support member organisations in their efforts to promote the profession and advance their expertise.

WCPT’s complete package of resources to help you plan and publicise events for World Physical Therapy Day. It includes ideas, practical advice, information about the benefits of physical therapy, posters, leaflets, logos, banners and press releases.  Part of the toolkit is a booklet providing facts, research findings, statistics and articles to help you demonstrate the contribution of physical therapists, as part of your World Physical Therapy Day events and campaigns.  It includes an article by the WCPT President, and research findings about physical activity and childhood obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, active ageing and cancer.  This year WCPT has published a toolkit including new posters and new flyers with a “Fit for the future” theme for you to use.
