Evidence In Motion (EIM) Educational Conference Includes World Class Physical Therapists

Evidence In Motion (EIM) is excited to announce details for Manipalooza 2013, an annual boot camp of hands-on learning in manipulation, soft tissue techniques, and pain management strategies for physical therapists.  The event, to be held May 18-20 at the University of Colorado in Denver, CO, will showcase many of the national and international thought leaders in the physical therapy profession including Larry Benz, DPT, MBA and Tim Flynn, PT, PhD along with many other well-known and respected faculty from across North America. The topics addressed at Manipalooza serve to improve patient outcomes and energize PTs through facilitating collaborations with peers.

“We expect this year to be even bigger than the past events. PTs are continually striving to improve their patient outcomes. Manipalooza provides them with an outlet to exchange ideas and receive hands-on guidance and clinical advice that they can apply to their treatments the following Monday,” says EIM principle Larry Benz, DPT, MBA.

The opening day of the event will include short talks from PT experts on a variety of subjects. Participants will have the opportunity to respond to presentations. The talks are followed by breakout sessions covering musculoskeletal, practice management, and sports physical therapy topics. These workshops are taught by EIM Residency, Fellowship, and Executive Program faculty. The second and third days of the event include hands-on sessions in manipulation techniques.

The topics covered during lectures and workshops include:

  •      The Last Thing Your Patient Needs Is a Hero (Consciousness, Healing and Leading)
  •     Bo Knows Bo
  •     “Manipulating” Patient Expectations to Improve Outcomes
  •     Management of Lateral Epicondylagia
  •     Practice Management
  •     Sports Physical Therapy
  •     Manual Therapy & Exercise for the Shoulder Girdle
  •     Upper Cervical Spine- Headaches, Dizziness, & Balancing Risk-Benefits
  •     Advanced Exercise as an Adjunct to Manual Therapy
  •     Advanced Manipulation & Decision-Making

“What you will experience at Manipalooza will be a series of keynote lectures from thought leaders in the industry,” states Tim Flynn, PT, PhD, EIM principle and faculty member, “followed by high quality hands-on laboratory sessions with EIM faculty who are passionate about providing patients with the best treatments and passionate about helping other PTs do the same.”

Manipalooza participants will be awarded 23.5 contact hours from the Evidence In Motion Institute of Health Professions for attending the entire event. The registration price is $675. Discounts are available to EIM Network Partners, EIM students, and entry-level Doctorate of Physical Therapy students. Participants can also register for the Saturday, March 18 programming only.
