Arthritis Research UK announces new call for research applications

Arthritis Research UK seeks to fund a number of projects aimed at investigating innovative approaches to enhance the education of health care professionals and the public on musculoskeletal disorders.  The educational activities sponsored by Arthritis Research UK are advised by the charity’s Education Strategy Committee (ESC). This body has undertaken a detailed strategic review of its activities in the fields of public and patient education, as well as undergraduate and continuing education of all relevant health care professionals.

Arthritis Research UK is pleased to issue a call for expressions of interest in research on the subject of the education of patients and the public. This will be in relation to particular questions and research topics – please make sure you read our document, Call for Research Proposals in the Education of Patients and Public 2011, before you apply.

The application process will be in two stages, as follows:

Stage 1
Submission of an intent form via our on-line application system, deadline: Wednesday 20 July 2011.

Stage 2
Submission of a full application form, for those invited to submit only, again via our online application system, deadline: Wednesday 1 February 2012.

Shortlisted applicants from Stage 1 may be invited to attend a review/mentoring workshop in October 2011.

Those who are subsequently invited to submit a full application will be informed of this by 28 November 2011.
