Best Clinical Practice for Shockwave Therapy

Electrotherapuetic agents have been a part of the physiotherapy and physical therapy profession for many years.  Recently they have fallen out of favour, however used appropriately under the correct circumstances the evidence shows that they can be an effective adjunct to client management plans.  Shockwave therapy is one example.  We’ve previously written about shockwave therapy for plantar fasciitis and calcific shoulder tendonitis providing evidence for it’s use in particular conditions.

If you’re interested to learn more you can attend a FREE course in Liverpool or London (in the UK) this autumn.  DJOGlobal will be hosting 2 free 2.5 hour evening workshops which will provide an overview of shockwave technology, the evidence behind it and how to use it in a clinical setting.  During the workshop we cover a brief history of shockwave and look at what they are and how they work. We will then move on to see how this technology can be used to treat groups of injuries and specific cases.  There will be a practical element to the course, allowing you to get hands on with the equipment. This will allow you to see hear and feel how shockwave treatments are done, get to grips with clinical application of shockwaves and best practice.
