Gearing up for WCPT Congress!

Bags packed, postcards printed, course ready, party planned, time to get excited!!

It is 4 years since the last WCPT Congress in Amsterdam (so happy that they are moving to every 2 years!!) and excitement is currently building for this years Congress in Singapore. There’s been lot’s of chatter on the Congress Twitter hashtag (#WCPT2015) and the executive committee are all there getting things ready for a great event!

As a WCPT partner Physiopedia will be quite active throughout Congress week:

Exhibition Hall – as usual we will have a booth in the exhibition hall where you can come along to say “Hi” and have a chat with the team.  Please do come along to booth D15 in the Global Village to entertain us!

Pre-congress course – our course on Creating Online Courses (no doubt you’ll note the irony here!) was one of the first to sell out at Congress.  On Friday 1 May Tony, Michael and I will be sharing our knowledge and experience of running massive open online courses.  Don’t expect to get away with not getting your laptops out on this course!

Amputee MOOC – we are delighted to spread the word about our upcoming open online course on Lower Limb Amputee Rehabilitation at Congress.  This course, developed in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and supported by CR Equipments, already has over 3000 participants registered.  We’ll be looking for people to sign up and join what is likely to be the largest ever gathering of physios and PTs interested in amputee rehabilitation!

Big Physio Survey – we are excited to launch the Big Physio Survey at WCPT Congress this year.  This brand new project, supported by Connect, aims to create a rich picture that describes the ‘everyday work’ of the current physiotherapy profession. We will be raising awareness of the survey that pilots in the UK in October.

Meeting of Minds Author Forum – during the Saturday afternoon coffee break we are excited to be hosting a gathering of expert minds! Come along to our Physiopedia booth in the exhibition hall at 3:15pm to meet the authors of our academic content partner Elsevier, meet the teams behind PEDro and PT Exercises our fellow WCPT partners and mingle with fellow Physiopedia contributors and friends. All fuelled by drinks and nibbles!
