AAOMPT Conference Balances the Three Pillars of EBP

AAOMPT Conference 2013Evidence Based Practice (EBP), as proposed by Sackett, involves the consideration of 3 equally weighted factors, the “pillars of EBP”, namely: Patient Values, Clinical Expertise and Relevant Research.  Practicing true EBP requires clinicians to understand the interplay of these 3 factors, and to make judicious clinical decisions regarding the care of an individual patient based upon this knowledge.

This year the AAOMPT conference, in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 16-20, has put together an invaluable experience for manual therapy clinicians. It is the intention of the conference organisers to utilize the talents of national and international speakers to explore the Three Pillars of EBP.  Presentations will explore the role of the patient’s values and perspectives, development of clinical expertise and skills, and the role of relevant research. The Three Pillars will all be represented in dynamic and informative, didactic and hands-on sessions, designed to enhance your clinical skills.

This is conference is one of the best and most relevant for manual therapists with a packed schedule over the four days.  This year there is an exciting lineup of internationally recognized leaders as keynote speakers, including Alison Rushton, Duncan Reid and Jim Meadows and a great line up of sessions.  It’ll be a gathering not to miss!
