WCPT appoints new CEO

The World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) appointed a new Chief Executive Officer today.

Jonathon Kruger takes over as CEO following the retirement of Brenda Myers earlier this year. Jonathon comes to the WCPT with a wealth of experience influencing public health policy in areas as diverse as workforce modelling, primary health care and chronic diseases.

Before taking up the position of WCPT CEO, Jonathon was employed as the General Manager (Policy) at the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. He has also held senior roles with the Victorian Government, Australian Medical Association and Australian Physiotherapy Association.

Dr. Emma Stokes, President of WCPT, had these welcoming words to share.

“On behalf of the Board of WCPT, I welcome Jonathon’s appointment to the position of CEO at a very exciting time for WCPT. From his time at the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Jonathon is very familiar with the vision of WCPT and international physical therapy.”

Physiopedia extends a warm welcome to Jonathan and wishes him well in his new role. As a professional partner, we look forward to continuing our close collaboration with the WCPT.
