Respiratory Muscle Training, the power the breathe strong!

We have a second learn topic for you this month on Respiratory Muscle Training.  This learn topic compliments the Dysfunctional Breathing topic that we released earlier in April.

Muscles involved in respiration are also involved in core stability as well as other upper body movements and exercises. Research has demonstrated that exercising to increase the strength and endurance of the respiratory muscles can benefit back pain, balance and falls, artistic and athletic performance as well as address breathing difficulties caused by chromic conditions such as COPD and ageing.  Following assessment and management of breathing pattern disorders, respiratory muscle training is a method of optimising the function of the respiratory muscles in pathological conditions and in healthy individuals.  This learn topic explains how.
