There are currently around 67,500 practicing physiotherapists in Italy, who are regulated by the Italian National Agency for Regional Healthcare Services (AGENAS) overseen by the Italian Ministry of Health. AGENAS provide technical and operational support to regions and healthcare organisations with regards to organisational, economic, financial aspects and efficacy of health interventions, as well as patient centeredness, quality and safety of care. To this end, AGENAS is responsible for accreditation of continuing education and continuing professional development to ensure that it is is scientifically validated and supports quality and safety of patient care. AGENAS requires that Physiotherapists in Italy complete 150 accredited training credits in each 3-year period, through accredited courses and learning opportunities.

Thanks to a new agreement, Plus is now an approved provider for AGENAS, meaning that all online courses on Plus are approved for credits for physiotherapists in Italy! Amongst the hundreds of resources available on Plus, there are now nearly 400 online courses that have been translated into Italian, enabling physiotherapists to learn in their own language.
