Physiopedia is an organisation driven by dedication and teamwork, where every person has a role and the opportunity to grow and contribute towards something meaningful. It is vital to our core that we recognise and celebrate the loyalty and efforts of those making an impact. 

Physiopedia has launched its Annual Awards to highlight the valuable contributions of the team. Physiopedia thrives because of the enthusiasm and devotion of its volunteers, contributors, associates and partners. Top ContributorLogo for Physiopedia Top Contributor Award 2024

This award is given to the individual who has contributed the most to Physiopedia content this past year. This award is being presented to Sehriban Ozmen, for the third consecutive year.

Sehriban made 586 edits, contributed to 86 pages, and created 8 new pages. She has also taken on the task of monitoring images and videos on PP pages. We are beyond fortunate to have you on the team, Sehriban. Thank you for your dedication to providing evidence-based knowledge to all rehabilitation professionals.

The superstar award is given to the person who has made outstanding contributions by an individual to Physiopedia. This year one person stood out as the clear choice.

Angeliki Chorti is an impressive member of the volunteer Content Team. She is always enthusiastic and motivated and does not shy away from challenges. She is passionate about physiotherapy and is always on hand to share her knowledge with the volunteer team.

Best ProjectLogo for Physiopedia Best Project Award 2024

New content development is a major driving force behind the creation of Physiopedia pages. Physiopedia has many partnering organisations (including educational, clinical and professional organisations) who contribute to the growth of content on specific topics through Physiopedia projects. This year, we are highlighting the efforts of Filip Maric and Srishti Banerjee. Filip is an Associate Professor in physiotherapy at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, he is the founder of the Environmental Physiotherapy Association (EPA) and led the Environmental Physiotherapy Project. A special thank you to Filip and his team for their impactful contributions to Physiopedia content.

Social Media Impact AwardLogo for Physiopedia Social Media Impact Award 2024

Where would we be without social media? Physiopedia initiatives, projects, content and contributions are highlighted daily on several platforms including Facebook, YouTube and X. This award is given to the person who has helped move the needle forward and carved out our vital presence on social media.

This award is given to Ewa Jaraczewska, whose thoughtful posts and tweets have helped share the Physiopedia and Physiopedia Plus (Plus) message. Ewa is an engaged and enthusiastic member of the Plus course creation team. Thank you Ewa for sharing our work with the global community.

Physiospot SuperstarLogo for Physiopedia Physiospot Superstar Award 2024

Physiospot is a great platform to highlight important issues and questions for the profession of physiotherapy. It is also an excellent virtual stage to showcase Physiopedia initiatives and contributions.

The Physiospot Superstar award is given to the individual with the most posts or the most impactful post on the Physiospot platform; this year the honour goes to Jason Geisbrecht. Jason created an impactful series of technology related articles on Physiospot. He is also an instructor on Physiopedia Plus, you can see his courses here. Thanks Jason for getting us to think ahead!

Outstanding LeadershipLogo for Physiopedia Outstanding Leadership Award 2024

Although many candidates are worthy of this recognition, there is one person who received overwhelming support for this award this year; Jorge Rodriguez manages the translation team at Plus.

Jorge’s responsiveness, attention to detail and curiosity has led to over 50% of the courses on Plus being translated into 5 languages (French, German, Italian, Spanish and Ukrainian). He is a natural leader and inspires the team to reach its potential. Thank you Jorge for all you do and for being a beacon of stability and drive for the team. 

Innovation AwardLogo for Physiopedia Innovation Award 2024

This award deserves particular consideration, as it highlights the creativity and innovation occurring within our team that makes a wider contribution to our profession. It is with dynamic projects that our profession can grow and evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of patients and the health care system as a whole. This year’s honour is given to Greg Slater. Greg is the master behind the Physiopedia AI Assistant, the world’s first physiotherapy-specific generative AI chatbot. Unique to this impactful tool is that it is the only tool that is trained on the trusted Physiopedia content, making for an AI tool that we can all rely on to use in our clinical practice, research and education. Thank you for inspiring all of us to move with the AI times.

Impact AwardLogo for Physiopedia Global Impact Award 2024

This award goes to an individual whose work has had a significant impact on the profession. This year the award goes to Kateryna Tymruk-Skoropad. Despite the most challenging experience of conflict in her home country Kateryna has put monumental amounts of effort into forwarding the physiotherapy profession in Ukraine. Not only does she translate courses on Plus into Ukrainian, she teaches at the Lviv State University of Physical Culture, is actively engaged in the the Ukrainian Physical Therapists Association and the Rehabilitation of War Trauma in Ukraine project implemented by the charitable foundation Patients of Ukraine. She always makes her valuable knowledge available to us to support the work that we do in Ukraine to advance rehabilitation practices and integrate rehabilitation into health systems. Kateryna, we thank you for being so awesome and for all that you do for rehabilitation in Ukraine.
