WCPT Congress Update – September 2014

With less than 2 weeks left to register at the early bird rate for the next WCPT Congress it’s time to seriously start thinking about planning your trip to Singapore.  If you book before the 2nd October deadline you will save up to 20% on your registration fee.  Here’s the latest information on Congress…

Preliminary programme just published
The preliminary programme for the the world’s largest and most influential international physical therapy gathering is now available. Highlighting the main sessions taking place each day, you can now start to plan your days at congress and build your own personal itinerary. With 25 focused symposia, 33 networking sessions, 11 discussion panels and debates, over 15 seminars and the presentation of more than 2,000 abstracts planned over the three days – the scientific programme has been designed to showcase the best in physical therapy research, education, practice and service delivery across the breadth of the profession.

I only want to register for one day of the congress but don’t know which day yet, will I be able to change the day?
You can register now for one day at the early bird rate. You can then change the day you are attending up until 21st April 2015.

I would like to attend a congress course, can I add this to my registration at a later date?
Yes, courses may be added to your registration up until 21st April 2015, but we encourage early booking as spaces are limited. You can view the full list of pre- and post-congress courses at: www.wcpt.org/congress/courses.

Can I add an option from the social programme after I have registered?
Yes, changes to your registration, including adding an option from the social programme, may be made up until 21st April 2015.

Is there a discount for group registration?
There is no discount for group registration, however, there is a group registration option that allows one person to enter multiple registrations with a single invoice being generated.

We would like to make a group reservation but don’t yet know the names of the individuals who will attend, can we register now at the early bird rate?
Yes. Payment will be required before 2nd October deadline, and delegate names must be confirmed by 3rd April.

Do I need a visa to travel to Singapore?
Information has been published on the WCPT website regarding visa requirements.

Call for abstracts
The deadline of 31st October to submit an abstract is now just six weeks away. If you haven’t yet had a chance, read our guidelines on writing an abstract before submitting and increase your chances of success.   Abstract presentations are the main way of showcasing the latest research and innovations – nearly 2,300 platform and poster presentations were made at the last WCPT Congress.  Access the call for abstracts and make your submission.

Congress courses
The pre- and post-congress courses are now available to add to your congress registration. They will be held on the 1st and 5th May 2015. Congress courses have a focus on applied knowledge and skills and are uniquely designed to complement the main scientific programme. They offer the delegate the chance to:

  • gain practical experience
  • listen to the latest evidence and discover the implications for practice
  • explore issues in depth
  • learn directly from experts via a range of stimulating learning formats
  • meet with international fellow delegates in their field of interest

Congress courses are an optional element that are open to delegates who register to attend at least one day of the main congress and they carry a separate fee. One day courses are SGD435 (includes course materials, tea/coffee breaks and lunch) and half day courses are SGD190 (includes course materials and tea/coffee break).

Congress accommodation
The congress hotel booking system is now open. A large number of hotel rooms have been reserved for congress delegates in Singapore. In order to benefit from these specially negotiated rates you must make your reservation through our hotel booking service.  The hotel booking service is accessed via your congress registration.
